What is PEC Basic Orientation 7.0?
PEC Basic Orientation 7.0 is a comprehensive safety orientation for the oil and gas workforce. It gives employees and contractors the general safety information they need before entering a facility or beginning work. The course addresses common workplace hazards, practical controls, worker responsibilities, and the safety expectations shared across participating worksites.
The program is accredited by SafeLandUSA and SafeGulf and is designed around recognized industry and OSHA safety standards. Version 7.0 replaced SafeLandUSA Basic 2021 and supports both onshore and offshore exploration and production environments.

How the live online class works
- Join the scheduled class live through Zoom with a working camera and microphone.
- Plan to participate for the full six-hour course; scheduled times are listed in Central Time.
- Complete your required PEC Learn/Veriforce account setup and pre-class steps before class.
- Remain visible, attentive, and engaged throughout instruction.
- Complete the required competency exam after instruction.

Your credential after completion
After successfully completing the course and exam, your training is recorded in the Veriforce system. Eligible students receive a physical or digital Veriforce ID card, providing employers and worksites with a verifiable training record.
